Answer

Question:
Even though my iPod is properly mounted, JakPod won't find it. How come?

Answer:
The problem is to detect the correct mount point of the iPod. So JakPod only checks the child directories of some common mountpoints ("/media", "/mnt" und "~/.gvfs") for mounted iPods. If you have mounted your iPod on a different place, you have to help JakPod to find it:

  • Open the file "jakpod.properties" using some text editor
  • Set the path to the mount point, for example "predefinedMountpoints=/path/to/ipod"
  • Save the file and restart JakPod

While you're at it, take a look at all the other options in "jakpod.properties". They are well documented and you might find some interesting stuff.
